Bike Journey For The Cause

Los Angeles, CA

April 14, 2007 05:00PM to 09:00PM

Hosted by Janey Williams

Event Description:

We will begin our journey at Union Station, downtown. Each biker will express his personal message on global warming either on his person, or on his bike somehow. We will set off on Cesar Chavez which turns into Sunset and continue to ride through Echo Park and Silverlake (most of this section has bike lanes and is a very pretty ride). We will continue on Sunset until it turns into Hollywood, ride down Hollywood Blvd. and end our journey on the corner of Argyle and Hollywood at the entance to the metro (here there is a spacious plaza). At this time the sun will be setting and we will get candles and refreshments out of our backpacks for a candle light vigil/potluck. Our message will reach many as the long line of bikers with curious signs on their backs makes their way from downtown to Hollywood. If you don’t own a bike, you may consider borrowing or renting one. And if you just can’t make the bike journey, you can always join us for the vigil which will begin at sunset. (If you fall into this category, consider bringing guitars and such.) Once over, the metro can take you right back to Union Station, if need be. A great day for a great cause.
