Waste Free Picnic for Global Warming Awareness

Event Description:
"Waste-free" Picnic 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Bring a "waste-free" lunch Ride Pace buses, take Metra train, walk or bike the Illinois Prairie Path or carpool. Step on and sign the "Step It Up 2007" banner and have our group photo taken. We will be inviting local government officials, environmental groups and small businesses and the press. There will be prizes for "Most Elegant Picnic," "Most Family-friendly Picnic" and "The Food Less-Traveled Picnic."

Directions:
Lake Ellyn Park Located on Lenox Road at Linden Avenue in northeast Glen Ellyn Exit the Prairie Path and G.E. Metra station on Park Blvd. walk north to Hawthorne Rd. turn right and walk one block east to Lake Ellyn Park.

Inclement Weather Plans in Place

We have rented the boat house at Lake Ellyn park in case of inclement weather. Donations to help offset this $190 expense would be appreciated. If the weather prevents you from walking or biking, please come anyway and you will be able to purchase offsets from Native Energy for your carbon production utilized in driving or taking mass transit.
