Event Description:

No, the rain will not stop us!! Please join us at what later this century will be a below-sea-level shopping center unless we take action to reduce GHG emissions 80% by 2050. We are the Climate Action Committee of the First Congregational Church of Berkeley. Wear a blue shirt to the rally to indicate the new 2050 water line if serious action is not taken. The banners are ready! (You can see a photo of it on our website at www.fccb.org.) Photos will be taken at 1:30!

Powell Street at Christie Avenue, Emeryville, near I-80

80 people from age 8 to 80 braved the rain to attend our rally at the busiest intersection in Emeryville -- a spot that will be under 5 feet of water without dramatic action.


We had two banners -- one explaining why we picked this location. "Do Nothing? Emeryville Under Water 2050!"
