Event Description:Rally scheduled in front of City County buildings in downtown
Asheville, NC. Date April 14, 2007 from 1 to 2. A group photo is scheduled for 1:45. If you play bluegrass, an impromptu/informal jam session will begin at 12:15 right before the event.
Speakers for this event are Warren Wilson College President Sandy Pfeiffer. President Pfeiffer is one of
two NC college presidents that have signed the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment - an initiative modeled after the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement.
Mayor Terry Bellamy will address the group. She signed has the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement. The City of Asheville has also formed a Sustainable Development Committee.
Richard Fireman, Western Region Director of the NC Interfaith Power & Light (a program of the NC Council of Churches) will also address the group.
An invitation has been extended to Senator Elizabeth Dole and Congressman Heath Shuler to address
the group.
