If you must drive:
Parking At 1201 San Jacinto, across the street from the Texas State Library and
Archives, this 3 level parking facility provides convenient, free and low-cost
parking for visitors to the Texas State Capitol Complex and downtown Austin.
The Capitol Visitors Parking Garage occupies the block bordered by San Jacinto
and Trinity (West/East) and 13th and 12th Streets (North/South). San Jacinto is
a one-way street going South. Trinity is a one-way street going North. Directly
behind the parking garage is Waterloo Park, making the garage a good parking
place for the many events held at Waterloo.
Our goal is to have a carbon neutral event.
Unfortunately many of us, in the process of organizing a Step It Up 2007 rally,
will be emitting carbon. To account for this unavoidable dilemma, there will be
an opportunity for participants to donate to a fund that will be used to
purchase Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) to offset any carbon emissions.
