About 100 people braved the chilly weather at Twelve Corners in Brighton to tell Congress to Step it Up! The Polar Bear enjoyed the cold, however. The Raging Grannies and the Radical RAW Cheerleaders got us moving, and the Irish Step Dancers were fantastic. We heard a progress report on positive actions from Brighton Town Supervisor Sandra Frankel and New York State Senator Joseph Robach, with promises of more to come. We collected a lot of signatures, and were highlighted on the Channel 13 news.

When Keri and I decided in February to try to organize an event for Step It Up, it was just the two of us, and we had never done such a thing before. As the date drew nearer, and as people began to learn of our plans, we had many, many offers of help and participation. This issue is important to so many citizens! As a result, it was a wonderful day of fun and activism. STEP IT UP, CONGRESS! The people demand ACTION on climate change.
