Approximately 250 people gathered to hear speakers: Senator Carol Migden, Environmental Hero - Randy Hayes, Marin County Supervisor and Environmental leader Charles McGlashan.

And to enjoy family events and activities including a youth play on global warming soon to be put up on you tube...

I am not the main organizer, but was the only sign-holder:

I arrived at 1:25 pm. Large (200?) event, but all *INDOORS* with speakers. We had a lame (but message-compliant!) banner; went and held it out on the boulevard outside the meeting for an hour or so. higher-quality photos may follow but for now here you go.

We had an educational, inspirational, family-friendly event. Despite the rain, we had a great crowd--including folks from a couple of the other local events-- who came out to hear the speakers, make pledges to reduce their ecological footprint, and find out about ways to do so in their community. A local organic farmer displayed his eggs and produce; a "light-bar" allowed people to "test-drive" different compact fluorescent bulbs; an electric car was there; lots of information about biking and alternative transportation, recycling and reducing waste, green building, etc. And for the kids: painting cloth grocery bags, and watching a play about global warming where the sun and the earth tell the kids how to get rid of evil Mr. Carbon to save the ice for their friend Polar Bear. After the event, the organizers gathered to watch the webcast together and we all hugged on cue! It was a really exciting day!
