We began the day with a hike up Bill Hill in Thetford center at 7am. The snow was crunchy underfoot and there was a mist in the air. On top is a 360 degree view of the village of Thetford Center. Tom Kinder led us through visioning a sustainable and vibrant world. He read one of Noel Perrin's essays from First Person Rural and used it as a parable for our work and relation to it.

At 8:30 we had breakfast at the Thetford Center Community Association building. Walks at the post Mills Natural area began. People tracked their regular commuting on a big regional map and recorded details of this transportation.

At 10:00 am we all marched to Thetford Hill and met in the First Congregational Church of Thetford. Pat Parenteau (VT Law School, climate science), Jonathan Leitschuh (7th Grade Thetford Academy, responsibility), Kate Duestenberg (Cedar Circle, condition of local agriculture), Will Allen (Cedar Circle, local energy conservation/alternative productions sytems), Terry Osborne (Dartmouth College, psychology of climate change) and Mark MacDonald (State Senator, current legislation and legislative process. As a Panel they answered lots of questions.
