The Universalist Unitarian Legislative Ministry Action Network of California held a state-wide petition signing event for National Step-it-Up Day. The petition was in support of the "Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act" and the "Safe Climate Act," both now in congress.

The UU church of Ventura joined the action and collected 70 signatures. Then we had a lively parade with our Step-it-Up banner, plus posters that said things like "Ride a Bike" and "Use Compact Florescent Bulbs." There were many honks and thumbs up - and our drummer finally found us, after wandering around making a joyful noise on the corner I had thought we were going to. We plan to deliver the petitions to our representatives, personally - in tandem with other groups.
