Dick Tighe, Morristown Councilman, talked about how Morristown is taking part in efforts to build a sustainable future for Morristown. "Morristown has LEEDS certified buildings going up as we speak. The major focus if Morristown's effort are the three E's: Economy, Equity and Environment. Further work needs to be done on a local level to fill the void created by the present administration in Washington. We all need to be in this together to save our planet."

We gathered on the green in Morristown with other socially conscious individuals. A speaker from the Morristown Environmental Commission spoke addressing the reduction of carbon by 2050 and what is being done now and what needs to be done. A folk singer entertained us, we collected participant information on our sign up sheets, signatures to send post cards to our congressional reps about the issues and handed out donated recyclable shopping bags, low wattage light bulbs together with literature on the issues.
