On a gorgeous, sunny spring day over 300 Ames residents rallied and marched across the city in an outstanding collective call for action to reduce carbon emissions. Highlights from the event included speeches by the Ames Mayor and the director of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and representatives from the Iowa state legislature and Ames City Council. We had students, seniors, and families attend, sorority members, a rock band, a Colombian band, and hippies who set up tightropes around the park. Power came from a solar power trailer we brought in for the rally and plugged all the sound equipment into. It was a smashing, inspiring success!
