We started our event at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles with about 50 riders. When we took to the streets there was an air of excitement. It felt good to be on the streets of LA surrounded by so much postive energy. Our riders shared the Step It Up message in various forms (posters, T-shirts, etc.) There was a biking DJ who provided us with good tunes throughout the ride and we were even accompanied by an electric motorcycle. We were an impressive force, and received positive feedback from passing motorists and pedestrians. We ended the ride at the corner of Sunset and Vine in Hollywood and stuck around to socialize, snack, pass out educational flyers, and play a little Capoeira before heading home. Many of the riders talked of wanting to make it a regular event. We will probably continue to ride as a group once a month and hope to pick up momentum as we go along.
