Our event was held outside, on a chilly day, at the new Richmond Middle School with many energy saving features. Jay Buckey, professor of medicine, astronaut, and maybe our next US Senator, spoke on the New Energy Economy. He signed a pledge that if elected he would support legislation to cut carbon emissions 80% by 2050. Len Cadwallader, executive director of Vital Communities, spoke to us "It's all about land use." We had singing, food, kids playing in the snow.
