405 VOLUNTEERS UNITED TO CLEAN-UP ALL THE TRASH FOUND UNDERWATER AND ON THE COAST OF ESCAMBRON BEACH IN SAN JUAN. WE REMOVED 3,795 LBS. OF "TRASH FISH", INCLUDING CAR PARTS, CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS, BEER BOTTLES AND BABY DIAPERS. VARIOUS GROUPS JOINED FORCES TO WORK AS A TEAM TO PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT; INCLUDING SCUBA DIVERS, KAYAKERS, SNORKLERS AND BATHERS. MARINE BIOLOGISTS ALSO RESCUED SEVERAL SPECIES FOUND IN THE TRASH, INCLUDING SHRIMP, DAMSELFISH, SEA STARS AND URCHINS. THE CONCEPT OF THE CLEANUP WAS "THE TRASH FISH TOURNAMENT", RECOVERING UNWANTED SPECIES LIKE THE BOTTLE FISH, BAG FISH AND TIRE FISH. THE EVENT WAS LED BY SCUBA DOGS, "DIVER'S BEST FRIEND", LOCATED IN GUAYNABO, PUERTO RICO.
