Saturday, April 14th at 10:00am, 35 folks from many different Catskill towns hiked up to a vantage point in Livingston Manor with a clear view of the Catskill High Peaks. At the summit, we took this group photograph with the gorgeous high peaks in the background, covered in carbon eating trees. Along the way, we talked about what we can do as individuals to reduce our carbon diet and many of us left motivated to start tackling specific actions.
One of them is to hold Step It Up Catskills; first Global Warming Café on the afternoon of Sunday, June 10 at The Sitting Room Coffeehouse in Liberty NY. In small teams we will learn how to calculate our Carbon Footprint (impact) and devise a plan for reducing it using the workbook Low Carbon Diet as a guide. The Café will be an opportunity for participants to have open dialogue about climate change and learn about how to reduce their impact. For ages 9 and up. Space is limited and pre registration is required by emailing llyons@pronetisp.net or calling 845/439 5507 by May 15

We hosted a GLobal Warming Cafe in Liberty, NY on 6/10/07 and 10 families came to pledge to lower thier Carbon Footrprint by using the Low Carbon DIet program as a guide. Now we are radiating out into our community to get others to join us in our low carbon diet.
