About 50 riders and more observers braved the rain to attend the Morgantown People Powered Parade. We had bike decorating for kids (and adults too!) and a costume contest. The city police gave us a bike safety demonstration. Then, parade participants biked, walked, rode skateboards, and pushed wheelbarrows through the heart of the city (a veggie fuel car and a city bus sporting bike racks participated in the parade as well). The parade ended at the riverside park where our mayor, university professors, and environmental leaders spoke about climate change. We were impressed by the all the support we received from our city government and local organizations. You can read more about the event in the press coverage (see below).
