One of our students created the Step It Up banner and we announced the rally at one of our school lunches - complete with background info as to why this event came about and its significance. We put the banner out on a table for all those in our school who were interested in signing it. We collected a large number of staff and student signatures. On Saturday, 13 dedicated souls (and one faithful puppy), unfurled our banner in front of our school sign to capture the image. Three hardy individuals followed this photo opportunity with a 26 mile bike ride as a celebration of human-powered transportation. We made one other photo stop in front of our maple sap evaporator with our banner to acknowledge locally produced products.
