We had a wonderful rally, bringing together 200 members of religious congregations and other interested people from the Denver area. At least 40 different congregations were represented! Speakers included US Rep. Diana DeGette, Environment Colorado director Matt Baker, Rev. Peter Sawtell of Eco-Justice Ministries, and eight other leaders from the faith community. Live music was provided by "Soul Purpose" from an area church. We had educational displays from numerous agencies working on climate change, and several businesses with energy saving products.
Over 200 people from 40 congregations attended the event. US Rep. DeGette is just to the left of the StepItUp banner.
The rally included educational displays and booths for environmental and religious groups working on climate change, including Colorado Interfaith Power & Light, and Eco-Justice Ministries.
US Rep. Diana DeGette, a strong congressional leader on climate change legislation, addressed the rally.
