Although there are only about several dozen residents in town right now while the rest are away for "mud season" and Spring Break vacations...we had an awesome turnout for our gathering in front of Jackson Whole Grocer. Our banner, made by the members of EARTH Club (9 and 10 yr olds), friends, and moms, waved proudly as we talked with about 80-100 folks about all sorts of wise-use and carbon-cutting ideas. The EARTH club's Pres., Ruby Jones, encouraged people to help, presenting one of her club's ideas: stop buying single serving bottled water! The club displayed simple alternatives and sobering facts. JWG donated home filtration/dispenser items for a free raffle. This small event had everything going for it--a positive buzz of people connecting with people. We are charged up here and new actions have already been planned. Important to note that our little community had 2 STEP IT UP events occurring simultaneously...check out the "Jackson Ride, Walk and..." event too! They gathered down at the Town Square ( a late entry on the event roster). Oh yeah, and we were covered by Jackson Hole News & Guide.
