The Philadelphia rally was held on Independence Mall: Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and the Constitution Center were all within view. It was AWESOME!

We had a great turn-out with over 1,000 people participating, many came with their own posters & signs. Our event was colorful and diverse; with young and old. It was a true family gathering.

We had musicians, political candidates, performing artists and even a teenager speak. One of the highlists was a local hip-hop singer.

There were people from all over Philadelphia, some from the suburbs, and numerous tourists. Several suburban groups came into town via our regional rail transit system, and arrived in bursts. Also on display was a hybrid city bus.

We had our subsidy shifting postcards signed by people from as far away as Honolulu & Santa Fe and were included as the local flavor in many tourist photographs.

People took our subsidy shifting postcards with them to hand out at home, give to neighbors and co-workers. So Congress... watch out for the flood of demands to shift our tax subsidies from dirty oil & coal to renewables!!

Our petitions for 80% carbon reduction by 2050 was signed by over 600 people.

I was a little dissapointed actually...the attendance was marginal and just seemed a bit lacking energy here! The main speaker was a little ridiculous and the musical acts were DATED!! C'mon guys, it's 2007 not 1967. I love Bob Dylan but a rendition of "times are a changin'" with the word "times" being replaced with "climate" does not do much for those folks who are on the fence with this stuff!! In fact, I think it would send them the other way!! Personally I think it was poorly organized and whatsmore the organizers are out of touch! All in all, dissapointing!

It tuned out to be a sunny Saturday ideally suited for our rally. People were
slowly gathering around the area with families. Children romped around. Sound system was good and people could listen to the speech and sing along with the songs.
