We had great turn out. I'd say maybe 350 people. People got a chance to listen to some great music from local musicians, listen to speakers on what we can do to make a difference on climate change. And we had 18 non-profit organizations join with us today to talk about everything from salmon restoration to bike pathways to solar power and changing your light bulbs out to compact flourescents. I feel really happy that people walked away with something measurable they could do today to make that difference. I say we've helped to start a serious movement to work on bringing an end to global warming. I and many others are excited to be part of that movement.

What was supposed to be a cold, wet day turned into sunshine early this morning. When you work for Mother Nature that's what happens! We gathered in Maritime Heritage Park next to a salmon stream that runs into the Bellingham Bay. There were 17 non-profit organizations with booths handing out information, talking to folks about their work in the community from salmon restoration to car-sharing, biking, solar energy, land trusts, even the Northwest Clean Air Agency brought a lightbulb demonstration and every person that participated received a free CF lightbulb (they gave away 300 of them!!) There was great folk music from some of Bellingham's finest musicians. And great speakers sharing their concern and their enthusiasm for change. Bellingham is a great community and very proactive on climate change. I'd say throughout the 3 hours we were there maybe 350-450 people came through.
