It all started with a showing of an Inconvenient Truth at the main library. We weren't just preaching to the choir since many had never seen the movie before.
Then we stepped it up a notch with a rally at the University of Akron. Approximately 250 attended on a very chilly, cloudy afternoon. We had 15 exhibitors showing everything from experimental vehicles, to new wind energy systems, to even an exhibit from our electric company on carbon sequestration (that means they are trying to contain the stuff).
The rally started with an inspirational speech by Congresswoman Betty Sutton. Local star performers Rachel Roberts and Alex Bevan got everyone to join for some songs to kick global warming. This was followed by speakers Alvidas Jasin (part of Al Gore's Climate Project group) and faith-based speakers Rev. Mark Frey and Rev. Dr. Dianna Swoop.
Many thanks to all who made it a fun-filled, informative and inspirational event and thanks to all who were there.

I just wanted to let you know that on the event that happened in Akron Ohio you mentioned who preformed, but you did not mention them all. Kreatures in the Skye also preformed, but was not mentioned. I know that the rally was more importantly about stopping global warming, but it would still be nice to mention all of the preformers if you are going to name part of them. Could you please correct this? Thanks. :)

This smokestack, spewing smelly steam was right next to our rally space. It was ripe to be used for a demo. Here - we put a cap on emissions. See the red cap?

Speaking bubbles were created so people could express themselves. "let the water flow" refers to the devastating effects global warming may have on water access due to lack of snow accumulation on mountains :-(
