Things looked bleak at the start, as the rain was coming down pretty heavily. Despite the inclimate (ha-ha) conditions, however, a hardy group of bicyclists began to appear. Eventually, there were about 20 attendees out on the majestic bicycle/ pedestrian bridge that spans Route 80 outside of Berkeley. We displayed our banners for the steady stream of cars passing below, and recieved continous honks and waves of support-- including one from a semi full of-- believe it or not smashed cars!

We talked about continuing the movement by using our Yahoo group email to help reach out to others who want to learn how to replace their car use with bike use.
