Over 200 people walked, biked or took transit to Chetzemoka Park and signed petitions asking Congress to Step it Up and cut carbon emissions by 80% by 2050. We listened to speeches by the Mayor, County Commissioners and local activists, took a group photo and then descended to the beach and marched with our signs to Hudson Point.

Step by Step Song by Laurence Cole reminded us that this is for the children............
"Of all the children, of all other beings, and all other nations, of all our relations"
"These sacred lands and sacred waters, this sweet, this sweet and sacred air"
"We sow the seeds for who will follow us and be walking in, walking in this sacred way"

Over 200 people attended the SIU rally in Port Townsend, WA. We had music and songs, talks by the mayor, a county commissioner, and representatives of green building and green energy. Pamphlets of "what you can do" to reduce CO2 and free CFL bulbs were given away. The petition was signed. The event was fun, enervating, stimulating, and promises much greater attention to this important topic.
