Although a cloudy day was forecast, the sun shone on more than 250 community members who attended the rally to show their support for the message ?STEP IT UP CONGRESS: CUT CARBON 80% BY 2050?.
Steve Thompson, Associate Regional Director for the National Parks Conservation Association and project coordinator for the Explore the Crown of the Continent Geotourism MapGuide Partnership with National Geographic Society and Lex Blood, retired FVCC instructor, co-founder of the Glacier Institute and managing director of the Sustainability Fund spoke on the effects of global warming in Glacier National Park and northwest Montana. The Tropical Montana Marimba Ensemble provided music while refreshments were served by Amazing Crepes, Qdoba, Kalispell Montessori Cub Scout Pack 4921 and Phi Theta Kappa.
