In Boulder, Colorado, under perfect Colorado blue sky, more than 400+ people gathered to march from Scott Carpenter Park to downtown Boulder. Endangered polar bears and penguins were present, at least in costume, as the citizens of Boulder County said loud and clear to their local and national representatives: "Stop Global Warming. Act Now. Reduce carbon emissions 80% by 2050." Once downtown, the marchers listened to Melissa Crabtree sing her Biodiesel song. Hunter Lovins, President of Natural Capitalism, Inc. spoke to the overflow crowd about profitable approaches to developing sustainable businesses and communities. Claire Levy, State representative from the 13th district and leading advocate of clean, green power, spoke about Colorado's new laws requiring 20% renewable energy by 2020. The crowd was treated to music by the Celtic singers The Muses. Then, Pieter Tans, Senior Scientist of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Admistration's Climate Monitoring and Diagnostics Laboratory said, "If we want to mitigate the climate change problem, the emissions of CO2 will have to be lowered dramatically, eventually to zero. This implies a nearly full transformation of society's energy supply system." On the heels of Tans, Will Toor, Boulder County Commissioner said, "There has been a void in leadership at the national level. State and local governments have been forced to take the lead." That lead is obviously supported by this overwhelming turnout.

We all marched along the Boulder bike path to the bandshell, where we had a rally with speakers and musicians. It was a wonderful day.

Dozens of children were scampering about and some even came prepared. This rally was for them.
