There was an official photographer at this event (not me), so more photos of this event should be submitted soon. In the meantime, I'll submit these.
This was a movie screening of the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car" sponsored by reclaimdemocracy.org. In attendance were four representatives from Plug In America, an advocacy group working to get automakers to build full electric and plug-in-hybrid vehicles. After the movie we had a Q&A session with great audience participation.
Attendees got to ride a Segway before the movie, and after the movie, some attendees got to ride in a RAV4-EV.

What a great evening! The air was warm and the rain not yet due. We began our Step It Up program with electric scooter rides on John?s Segway. As we took turns and traded stories, several of us were interviewed by Emilia, on assignment from her UC Irvine class. Once inside, we feasted on a delicious and beautiful array of vegetarian refreshments.
At curtain call, searching for chairs and filling the room to capacity, eighty of us settled in for ?Who Killed the Electric Car?. Engaging and broadly enlightening, this environmental WHODUNIT weaves potential causes, culprits, and circumstances into a tapestry of interlocking possibilities. A verdict of guilty is clearly rendered, but in true environmental form, no single killer emerges.
Following the film we were greeted by Linda Nicholes, president of the local Plug In America chapter. Along with fellow organizers Mike, Ted and Richard, Linda, having endured the crushing of her EV1 all over again, graciously fielded a slew of questions from a very active audience. Our Step It Up program concluded with a sustained round of applause for the panel, and we parted, homework in hand, to help Congress ?Cut carbon 80% by 2050? by becoming citizen co-sponsors of the Boxer-Sanders global warming bill.
Thanks to Director Steve Spanier and the rest of the Orange County ReclaimDemocracy.org members for hosting this wonderful evening!
