Youth, music and community were the hallmarks of Andover's Step It Up 2007 National Day for Climate Action drawing about 350 enthusiastic supporters to historic Old Town Hall. All 14 of Andover's public and private school students collaborated to create the Step It Up banner. Participants sang along with local musician Pat Scanlon as he called for an end to global warming to the tune of "You Are My Sunshine." Andover's State Senator Susan Tucker and two State Representatives Barry Finegold and Barbara L'Italien addressed the audience and called for community members to STEP IT UP and work toward cutting carbon emissions. Hundreds took part in the group picture, visited information tables set by local organizations and schools and listened to music from Andover High and Phillips Academy students.
