Texoma residents came out to historic Loy Lake Park to demand that Congress Step It Up. We had a great rock band and a "no trash" picnic provided by the Red River Unitarian Universalist Church Green Team. We had a good turnout and everyone had a great time despite the unseasonably cold weather.

This was a great event for our local environmental group CORE (fresh off our victory against the Texas Coal Plants!). We are a small group in a rural area, but we sued the Governor of Texas for fast-tracking the permitting of coal plants, and we won! For STEP IT UP, we had an awesome band that kept us moving despite the cold. Thanks go to the RRUU Green Team for providing a "No Trash" Lunch. We also bought offsets, so our event was carbon neutral. It was an honor to be part of this historic event.
