To show our support for the cause, we opened up our home to 32 people on April 7 & then 31 on the 14th. Our event started with Signal Hill Councilman, Ed Wilson, who is also running for Assembly & culminated with speaches on global warming from District Director, Bill Grady, of Congresswoman Linda Sanchez' office followed by Claudia Ornelas, a Field Representative for Assemblymember Tony Mendoza. Linda Nichols of PlugInAmerica.com displayed her electric car & Alan Williamson, a Solar Installation Specialist Supervisor rode to our event on a solar powered bicycle & demonstrated how to use solar to power household items that use electricity. Alan, recently featured in the Long Beach Press Telegram, is being featured on PBS later this month. We also had petitions for our green energy supporters to sign & Bill Grady read letters written by high school students. In all, we had a total of 65, including my husband & myself!
