We began at the Hitchcock Center for the Environment in Amherst, with a Greening the Roadways Festival and Biotour bus. This included greasecar & biodiesel workshops, a showcase of greasecars, hybrids, and hybrid electric bicycles, as well as sign-making.
We then proceeded to parade to Hampshire College walking, biking, and riding in greasecars while holding a laundry line of signs and t-shirts bringing awareness about global warming. This took place on the side of the highway, and was a 3 mile trek.
Once at Hampshire College, we continued the festivities on our library lawn with home-cooked food, green organizations, t-shirts, tote bags, hand-made crafts, speakers, performers, bands, and a big dance party. This festival went on well into the night, and ended at 1 am with our feature photo holding a Step it Up Banner.
