Two rallies! A whopping 100+ attendees!!!
The morning rally was held at the Mendenhall Glacier in tribute to the world's disappearing ice wonders. We had people from all over Juneau and Southeast Alaska, a few doggie friends, and a collapsible bicycle! The afternoon rally was held in downtown Juneau at Marine Park. Special guest speakers included Juneau Mayor Bruce Botelho, Juneau State Representative Andrea Doll, Alaska Conservation Alliance Executive Director Kate Troll, Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes' environmental specialist Ray Paddock, and high school student representative Isabel Bush from the Alaska Youth for Environmental Action. Countless passing cars honked to our sign "Honk to Halt Climate Change!" Thanks for your support Juneau and Southeast Alaska!!!

On Monday, April 30, I met with Connie McKenzie at the Juneau office of Sen. Murkowski, Sen. Stevens, and Rep. Young. I shared with her the photo of our rally and information about our events in Juneau. We conversed about climate change and what actions we as Alaskans can take. It was a great conversation, and Connie said that she will include information about our rally in her newsletter. Thanks everyone for making this event happen!
