It was cold and windy on the Hudson River today, but more than 150 brave souls turned out to hear professors and clergy together trying to save creation. Our slogan was Save Uncle Sam, Troy's favorite son and the national icon. But really, it's the other U.S. we're talking about.

We screened the film "The Great Warming". The turnout was modest but the film was a hit and the audience was grateful for the opportunity to see it.

Creative expressions of our group's concern included: green popsicles, a baby carriage with stuffed endangered animals; an earth flag worn as a sari; and many honking horns by people in cars sitting in the Watertown Square traffic.

It was AWESOME!
We had a great turn-out with over 1,000 people participating, many came with their own posters & signs. Our event was colorful and diverse; with young and old. It was a true family gathering.

As part of the larger event, four Stanford students showed the Stanford Campus Climate Change Campaign's support for aggressive greenhouse gas emissions reductions at all levels.

Nothing as fancy as "An Inconvenient Truth," but we aired several very good films about global warming (including the excellent "The Great Warming") on Ch. 28, Berkeley's community-access cable TV channel. It's something you may be able to do in your town - try it!

We gathered at 10:30 and discussed the things that we could do to increase local awareness about the need to reduce CO2 emissions. All agreed that we need to promote local activities and patronize local agriculture.
