Event Description:
Hike up to the top of Mt. Abe in the Lincoln Gap and hold a rally at the top with banners and great "Low Carbon" local cheeses and wine (Local water too) All to celebrate one of our greatest presidents who foresaw alot of the trouble we are currently experiencing way back in the 1860's.. 1864 to be precise, in a letter to friend Col. William F. Elkins he wrote: We may congratulate ourselves that this cruel war is nearing it's end. It has cost a vast amount of treasure and blood. The best blood of the flower of American youth has been freely offered upon our country's altar that the nation might live. It has indeed been a trying hour for the republic; but I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong it's reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety than ever before, even in the midst of war. God grant that my suspicions may prove groundless. Whoa. maybe a reading of that letter on top of Mt Abe would be in order.

Take the Lincoln Gap road to the top and we will organize at the trail head, 9am. Please call for more precise directions if you do not know how to get to the Lincoln Gap road.

WE have our pilot,plane and photographer and we have apprx 14 brave souls to hike up a mountain in November to shout it from the mountaintops that we need to wake up the powers that be and get aggresive with carbon-reduction and alt-energy legislation!! Lets GO Congress...
