Event Description:
Come to Step It Up Chicago - Global Warming Education and Leadership Forum 12:00 Noon, Saturday, November 3, at High Risk Gallery, 1113 W. Belmont. We have heard a lot of talk in the media about the problem of global warming, yet the US has not show serious leadership on the issue. Come be a part of a national grassroots movement to have our elected officials demonstrate leadership on global warming. On November 3, community based organizations around the country will come together under the banner of Step It Up www.stepitup2007.org to tell to our elected officials that its time for them to Take the Lead on global warming. We have invited local policy experts and state legislators to speak about the challenge and opportunities that global warming presents. Jack Darrin, Illinois Director of the Sierra Club and policy experts from the Center for Neighborhood Technology have been invited to speak. Then it will be time for you to Take the Lead at a moderated elected official forum. Hear from local state legislators and ask them on how they plan to Take the Lead on global warming. This event has been organized by the Sierra Club, Chicago Global Warming Meet-up and Climate Justice Chicago. Please email us if you'd like help us to make this event a turning point in in the global warming crisis. For more information on Step It Up and its goals see below.
