The rain has delayed our plans to cover the neighborhood with paper.
We still need flier posters.
A rainy day may be a good time for quiet reflection. Heres a little history of the Park.
Fort Washington / Tryon Park, the highest point in Manhattan, towers above the Hudson River and offers magnificent views of the City, Northern New Jersey & the Palisades, the George Washington Bridge, the Bronx and Long Island. Rich in History, the Battle of Fort Washington was fought on November 16, 1776, between 2,900 American Colonial Soldiers and 8,000 Hessian mercenaries. George Washington and his men lost the battle but won the War. The battle included the heroic efforts of Margaret Corbin, the first American woman wounded in battle in the Revolutionary War. The historic battle serves to demonstrate the need to struggle against overwhelming odds and early defeats.

The Park is one of New York’s great treasures, and thanks to Global Warming, it will still be Green. The gardens and terraces are an experience in themselves and should not be missed. The squirrels and pigeons are reputed to be the friendliest in New York. Bring the Kids.
JOIN US AT SUNSET ON NOVEMBER 3RD.
