Step it Up @ SHU
South Orange, NJ
November 3, 2007 11:30AM to 02:00PM
Event Description:The Ecology Club at Seton Hall is planning an event in response to the “Step It Up” activities on Saturday, November 3rd. More information about “Step It Up” can be found at
www.stepitup2007.org. Our event will begin at 11:30am that Saturday with a speaker, who will discuss Climate Change in terms of its problems, potential solutions, & individual awareness. The speaker will talk for around a half an hour. To follow, the audience will be brought to a workshop in which attendees calculate their carbon footprints & learn about their personal contributions to climate change & what they can do to help resist. With their findings, we will be making t-shirts with attendees paint “footprints” to symbolize their carbon footprint & display the number they retrieved from the activity, challenging those reading the shirt with “What’s yours?” After this activity, attendees will be brought outside for a symbolic “march” around the green to “step it up” against Climate Change. Informative handouts, links, interest sign-ups, etc. will be provided to attendees, as well as a day following the event where those who attended will be asked to wear their t-shirts.
Location:
400 South Orange Ave
