Ride To Join Revolution in Concord
Acton, MA
November 3, 2007 01:15PM to 04:15PM
Event Description:
Acton is proud to have played a vital role in the 1st American Revolution. Inspired by their brave leader, Captain Isaac Davis, Acton's Minutemen marched 7 miles to Concord, then led the successful attack on British troops. We will carpool to Concord, following much of the Isaac Davis Trail, to join other area towns at the "Revolutionary Energy Rally" being held at Minute Man National Historical Park, and help initiate the 2nd American Revolution--a revolution calling for the speedy revival of American energy independence, and a halt to climate change! (See seperate event descriptions in Bedford, Cambridge, Boston, Carlisle Framingham, Lexington, Weston and etc.)
Location:
486 Main Street
Directions:
Meet at the Acton Memorial Library at 1:15, parking behind the adjacent Acton
Town Hall. Upon arrival, identify yourself as a carpool participant to others,
then agree on a plan. Every car left behind cuts gas use, cuts CO2 emissions,
and saves on limited parking space. Details of the Concord Rally, which starts
at 2 PM, can be found under that event description on this website. The Acton
Minutemen, as well as Minutemen from surrounding towns, have been invited to
attend the Concord Rally, bringing fifes and drums. All ride participants are
encouraged to bring appropriate signs, and wear some colonial clothing, such as
a tricorn hat, if possible. Questions? Send us an email. Thanks for your
support of this vital cause!
