Local residents met Saturday November 3rd, 2007 at the Galesburg Community Center to view & discuss a PowerPoint Global Warming, 1-Sky, and Cool Cities.

Additionally, the author of "Sustainable Operating Systems", Michael Richards, held an open forum where individual attendees discused what they are doing and/or are willing to do to 1) lower consumption and 2)raise value.

It was noted that "Living simply, so others can simply live" along with strong cultural leadership will be vital to survival in the ensuing crises of global warming and post peak petroleum, water, & soil.

Lunch was provided and included organic and locally grown food.

The local StepItUP team meets about once a month to discuss, and develop cultural, civic activities that address risk management of the menacing global warming crises.

The meetings also serve as an open forum to discuss sustainable community living and other other strongly related matters.
