This morning, the Jackson Hole Middle School Global Warming Hero League led the way to the Town Square (coincidentally the busiest intersection in the state of Wyoming), where we distributed over 120 compact fluorescent light bulbs to passersby. The day was a huge success, with an educational seminar this afternoon covering a number of topics. After an impressive talk on climate change by the GWHL, we hosted a panel of speakers. This inspiring panel included professional athletes Lynsey Dyer and Rob Kingwell, carbon neutral blogger Keith Peters, solar panel whiz Mike Maples, local author and educator Ken Tomasma, local energy professional Brian Tanabe, and, finally, Teton County Commissioner Ben Ellis, whose recent election has brought a climate change scholar into local politics. It was a beautiful green day in this big ol' red state!

We have an active group of middle school kids who attended the Global 2010 broadcast. The kids have been dedicated to activities that bring awareness to the CO2 reduction efforts. We 'marched' to our downtown local square and displayed signs that promoted a smaller CO2 footprint. The group offered more information and a chance to gather at a local environmental alternative school called Teton Science School later in the day.
