Macon, Georgia is a very conservative town in a very conservative state. With intensive promotion - posters, articles, networking - we still had a very small turn-out.
However, one of the attendees, Robert Nowak, is a challenger for Rep. Jim Marshall's House seat for Georgia's eighth district. Global climate change is one of Mr. Nowak's running points, and he could make a real difference in the House next year if elected.
Other attendees were involved with April's Step It Up in Atlanta, and hopefully this event will prove to be the beginning of a global climate change coalition in Middle Georgia.
