The Mountain View Cool Cities team honored City Council for their endorsement of the U.S. Mayors' Climate Protection Agreement. CA State Assemblywoman (Speaker Pro Tempore) Sally Lieber participated in the event, giving a short speech after Mayor Macias and the City Councilmembers in attendance. Other speakers and tabling organizations included Santa Clara Certified Green Businesses, especially Aileen LaBouff Eco-Broker, Harrell Remodeling, SummerWinds Nursery and many more.

Our Green Fingers table was a great success, garnering over 70 signatures on the report back form. The Sierra Club had a Cool Cities table and handed out more than 50 free CFLs. PG&E provided attendees with free shopping totes. There were electric hybrid vehicles and other energy efficient transports on display.

The "Energy Bike" was also a big hit with the kids who pedaled to power incandescent bulbs and then compared that exertion with pedaling for CFLs. The kids also enjoyed a "SCRAP" table where they made art projects from recycled materials.

we listened to the mayor speak about the climate change resolution that she signed yesterday. the event was upbeat with interesting with informative booths. even the fire department did a little parade drive by to support the event. the organizers did a very good job.
