I went to Urbana U of C Alma Matter at the corner of Wright/Green. After found a public parking space, I came back and saw about 20 or more mostly students, some were adults may be professors gathering to sign pettitions or write letters to Congressionals and sign names on attending sheets. I stay to spoke to some of those that organized this event and found out these students from UIC are Green Party activists. It's a nice event. I'd love to come around again.

We gathered at a visible point, the University of Illinois Alma Mater, on the edge of campus and downtown. As speakers we had Urbana Mayor, Laurel Prussing, who has signed the Mayor's Protection Agreement, and two wonderful green party candidates, Joe Futrelle and Walter Pituc . We had a table set up where people could sign our attendance sheet and write a letter to their representatives. These letters were symbolically hung on a clothes line and will be copied and subsequently mailed to our state and federal representatives. The hope is that all of them together will have a synergistic effect in demonstrating our support for this initiative. Overall, it was a great event and I was very happy to see all those that came out for it.
